Grow slabs are a compressed growth medium packed in plastic bags made of LDPE (Low Density Polyethylene) with black interior and white exterior. The bags are UV treated and equipped with holes to support planting and excess water draining. The compressed medium in the slab is a mix of coconut fibre, coir pith and coco chips. Mixes are also available which contain high quality buffered coco, washed coco or normal coco peat. This makes grow slabs optimal for cultivation without soil.

Grow slabs are ideal for hydroponics growing technique used in commercial nurseries, greenhouses and home gardens. Vegetables such as tomatoes, chilli peppers, bell peppers, cucumbers, aubergines and zucchini, fruits such as strawberries and flowers such as anthuriums, roses and carnations can be grown on these slabs. The blend inside keeps the rectangular shape of the grow slab and responds adequately to a wide variety of vegetables and flowers. 

Adequate water and air distribution is available in the compressed medium and is excellent for seed propagation and fast and healthy root development. Grow slabs can be reused several times and have stable pH and EC values.

The bags are available neutral, printed or customized for private labelling. The size and number of holes can also be customized according to the growing requirements. Further customizations can be made in the size of the grow slabs and materials in the compressed medium.

The components used in the mix inside the grow slab are extracted from coconut trees grown in Sri Lanka and is of high quality.
